Woihanble Fund case study
Web Design
Web Development
Management & Hosting
A charitable organization empowering youth on the Pine Ridge Native American reservation by enabling hands on experiences and entrepreneurial activities. Inspired by an internship experience with the Lakota people of Pine Ridge, the Woihanble Fund’s founder is seeking to offer people on the reservation similar opportunities to the one he had.
Developing for charities
Designing and developing websites for charitable organizations is a rewarding process that combines creativity with purpose. Each project focuses on building trust, inspiring action, and making it easy for visitors to understand the mission and get involved. The experience highlights the power of thoughtful design to amplify a mission and strengthen a nonprofit’s connection with its community, and we love every minute of it.

What made this site special
We enjoyed featuring the founders artwork inspired by Native American culture early on in his life. Sub-pages of the site feature the art as the background image for the page title, with the provocative colors and imagery pulling the viewer in. Our use of blank space throughout the site is also notable, exhibited in the “Woihanble / Dream” section as well as the footer and other places, the spacing allows the design to breathe meaning each section stands out.

Illustrating a mission to enable dreams with pixels
Doing justice to the mission of the Woihanble Fund with our digital representation was no easy task. Through aspirational graphics and emphasis on the word dream we do our best to visually represent the mission of creating opportunities for growth and entrepreneurship.
Laying out the steps to apply for a grant
The central mission of the Woihanble Fund is to award grants to applicants from the Pine Ridge reservation that fall within the scope of the fund’s mission. The grant application page clearly lays out the process for prospective recipients, highlighting key milestones in the process and setting expectations.

Defining opportunities to get involved
For those inspired by the mission of the Woihanble Fund and looking to get involved there is a simple, but direct, page outlining how you can help. The chief goal is to foster community involvement at Pine Ridge, whether the person is applying for a grant or working directly with applicants as a volunteer or mentor.
The clean footer directs website visitors and shows off the fund’s logo
Simplicity in design puts emphasis on thoughtfully crafted elements, like the buffalo logo and clearly organized links in the case of this website’s footer. A lack of distractions makes it easy for users of the site to find what they are looking for effortlessly.
